C170 fails to output video

C170 fails to output video

After (Inadvertently) modifying the BIOS settings and shutting down, I can no longer start my C170. The on/off button lights up and a fan starts, followed by 5 beeps. No video signal is generated.
Since I can no longer access the BIOS I cannot investigate and correct the fault. Can anyone diagnose the fault and suggest a cure?
