Eternus DX80 wiping

Postby DCharlton » Wed Oct 18, 2023 17:42

Hello, I am tasked with wiping a couple of old Eternus DX80s and I have no server to hook them to so im trying to do with with a laptop and desktop I use one to get into the webgui and the other to connect to the Iscsi. They are both windows 10 machines. first off is this even possible?

if the first answer is yes. then what do I need to do to get windows 10 to see the drives? I have it connected on both the desktop and the laptop but neither sees the LUNs/Disks I have set up so I can wipe it.

We are trying to wipe them vs destroying the hard drives. As we are hoping to resell it with the disks hence why are pushing to wipe them vs having them shredded as that costs money.

Thanks in advance for any help

Ok I was able set up iscsi initiator on windows. however I still not can not see the drives and now that I have screen shots of how the system was setup before I realize I need to do more configuration to let the system see the drives. so is there a manual for setting up LUN/Drives to be visible to windows.

Thanks for your assistance

Hello :)

Please, in order to connect ETERNUS to Windows:
- using SAS: https://sp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/Publicat ... 442-EN.pdf
- using iSCSI: https://sp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/Publicat ... 382-EN.pdf
- using FC: https://sp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/Publicat ... 672-en.pdf
+ https://sp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/Publicat ... 342-EN.pdf

Disk sanitization built-in function only available for systems with SED/SSD disks. In other cases please use host side software for secure erase the data.

We don't have any special requirements other than those in https://sp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/Publicat ... 382-EN.pdf for iSCSI LUN visibility in Windows.

Check whether the Host Affinity is set up correctly - it's most common part which sometimes is skipped.
