I have found the same problems, Google movies and YouTube seem fine but the iplayer and tvcatchup have a very bad delay. I put in some tech support requests and had no luck so called Fujitsu support direct, who just blamed the BBC. I think that something is wrong with the firmware for this device, or the software and Fujitsu need to sort it out.
Why don't you try to call support and mention that you are not the only one and that its not just a problem with the iPlayer? This is what they asked me to do when I emailed tech support;
Given the nature and complexity of the reported issue we would request you to call into the warranty helpline to formally report the issue and go through any required diagnostics.
