sorry but I won't be able to help you with that one. What I did was to find a WiFi card that is compatible with Linux. And yes, I remember there was a problem with Bluetooth, but there was plenty of workarounds I found just googling.
I would guess if you can find a Windows 7 driver for the WiFi card you should be fine.
Just make sure you don't depend on your WiFi to download the driver, is the only advice I can give. Download it before you swap the card, or make sure you have LAN cable access to the internet.
It's good to see that users are still profiting from a thread that is two and a half years old, on a laptop model that has been around for more than 10 years. Nowadays sustainability is a big thing, and I think this type of upgrade is very, very sustainable and environmentally friendly.
