Some Problem with AH532

Postby 123lelouch » Wed Feb 06, 2013 18:59

Dear Users!

I recently bought a Fujitsu Lifebook AH532/G52 and I like it very much. It's the first time for me to have a Fujitsu PC.
Coming to my Problems:

1, I wanted to upgrade to Windows 8 via USB Boot, but it had an error copying the old files to the new system and had to recover windows 7!
Since then, I cannot acces my BIOS/UEFI anymore, neither the normal EFI with F2 nor the Boot menue with F12. All it does is to start Windows 7. And so, I cannot upgrade to Windows 8 again, since i cannot access the Boot menue...

2, It seems like the Computer, or to be precise the drivers for Wlan settings, cannot access to many Wlan hosts (even normal WEP, or even open Wlans). It, too, has the problem to keep the connection while on the internet.

Thank you very much and I would appreciate your help

I have only seen one circumstance of this ever happening (not on this machine type) With machine off, Remove the hard drive - switch on without the hard disk in. Enter bios. set your boot menu. Save and exit. switch off. put hdd back in.

What driver version are you using on windows 7 ? Check Device manager -> Network adapters -> Intel Centrino - double click for properties click on the driver tab.

I think this one is for windows 8 http://tinyurl.com/w8intelwlan

And this is gonna fix the bios/efi? So I can enter it again, and try the win8 installation once again? That would be nice!

What driver version are you using on windows 7 ?

For Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230 I got the following version: 15.4.0.11

try loading bios defaults then save and exit.
I think your driver is ok or you could try the intel site automaticaly detect :

I've got the same problem - new AH532/GL with Centrino 2230.
I also have really crappy signal, it hardly picks up anything:
Even if I stand beside the AP, I never get full signal. If I try to use it than, the connection drops and is generally unusable. I've tried it with several accesspoints with the same results. If I walk further from the AP, I get no connection whatsoever.
If i plug cheap $5 802.11n USB stick from eBay, I get full signal and eventually really long rage.

I've heard about a guy with his AH532 having antenna disconnected from the factory, but it isn't my case.
There is a black antenna connected to "Main 1" and a gray one connected to "Aux 2". I've disconnected and reconnected them just to make sure there isn't a bad contact. It didn't help.

What to do? I am sure the problem isn't in my Accesspoints. I have turned off powersaving features for the adapter and have the latest drivers (checked with Intel's driver update tool on their site)

hi I have got the same problem with the bios since updating to windows 10 ,no access to the bios through f2 or f12 have tried all options like taking battery out ,holding power button, nothing works does anybody from fujitsu know what to do I think they don't? Apart from sending it back to them and pay out a few hundred pounds I have googled this problem and other people have had this same issue, it seems like the bios information has been overwritten? Surely there must be a fix for this come on fujitsu get it sorted.

hi I think I have found a way to access the bios again, I put in my original fujitsu recovery disc with windows 8 on it installed windows which surprisingly booted without having to access the bios ,did all the updates which included windows 8.1 then went into recovery, trouble shoot ,advanced options, and there it was back again adjust uefi firmware settings which gets you into the bios, I am going to try setting my boot option to usb to see if it works will let you know.

no joy with usb, it is not showing in the bios after adjusting different settings, booting from cd works though, so can at least boot from cd now which is something I could not do before, if anyone knows how to get the usb to be shown in the bios I would appreciate that?
