Hello all.
I have just camed across a Celsius R670-2 with 4 g of RAM, 1 xeon E5540, and a quadro fx3800. I would like to upgrade it somehow and transform it into a budget workstation. I was thinking of dual w5590 or 5580 processors and fill the ram bays. Would it still perform for basic CAD and CAM for fusion360 and solidworks?

Thank you for contacting us.
Two identical processors must always be installed.
However, it must be a CELSIUS R670-2 as these processors are NOT supported by the CELSIUS R670 (without "-2").
The extent to which this is sufficient for satisfactory performance under the applications mentioned also depends on the graphics card used, the application itself (Is the workstation supported for the corresponding version?), the projects to be processed and your own performance requirements.
Unfortunately, this cannot be answered in general.
