Fujitsu M740 power, TPM 2.0

Postby hrhr » Mon Sep 26, 2022 17:18

Hello,
I've bought a M740 power workstation, unfortunately with the "A" Haswell" mainboard, that doesn't support booting from nvme drives.

But one thing I could not find any information on is, how do I update the TPM from 1.2 to 2.0?

I could not find TPM module update on Fujitsu site for this computer.
In the leaflet for this computer it clearly states that TPM 2.0 is supported.

I owned Dell T5810 and HP z440 which are based on same chipset and both allowed TPM upgrade from 1.2 to 2.0, that's why I find it confusing that the M740 doesn't seem to provide this possibility?

Hello :)

The Celsius M740 and M740B are since 02.2018 the end of life.

it was available in different versions:
"Celsius M740 or M740 Power with Haswell Chipset"
or
"Celsius M740B or M740B Power with Broadwell Chipset".

so are two different TPM versions were possible.

Celsius M740 with Mainboard D3348-A1
Chip vendor and type: Infineon SLB 9660
Feature: TPM 1.2 compliant Trusted Platform Module
Jumper for Enabling/Disabling the TPM-functionality.

Celsius M740B with Mainboard D3348-A2
Chip vendor and type: Infineon SLB 9665
Feature: Feature: TPM 2.0 compliant Trusted Platform Module
Jumper for Enabling/Disabling the TPM-functionality.

for both systems was NO discrete TPM 2.0 module (via mainboard connector) available.

Here you can find a TPM Firmware update for the Ceslius Workstations of this generation with installation description.

This link is not working for me. I have two M740 with the D3348-A1 mainboard which I need to upgrade to TPM 2.0. Is this possible with this mainboard?

Can you post a fresh link or share the files?

The SLB9660 with TPM 1.2 used on the D3348-A1 mainboard can be upgraded to TPM 2.0 via an Infineon Firmware upgrade tool. I have done so successfully on my Celsius M740. Unfortunately, the BIOS does not recognize the upgrade and still shows TPM1.2. All TPM features are inactive.
After I downgraded to the latest TPM 1.2 firmware, I can use secure boot again but PCR7 binding is still not possible.
Anything that could be done here?
