What means that it randomly hangs on networking? These computers lost network connectivity? They are really hanged? Are these computers detecting a lost of the ethernet link signal? Or a lost of the TCP session?
I recommend you to add the last recommended patches for your OS release. Perhaps network connectivity is lost under high network load.
Check too http://sunsolve.sun.com/ for updated information about your OS release (I am not sure about it, perhaps a better place to look for information related with Solaris in FSC servers is available in http://its.sni.de/).
You can try the next shell script to recover network connectivity (perhaps it will work, but perhaps not). I wrote it to recover network connectivity on my laptop after hibernation and it works just fine here.
<-- shell script begins here -->
#!/bin/sh
#
# Copyright (c) 2001 Igor Sobrado.
#
# Redistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or without
# modification, are permitted provided that the following conditions
# are met:
#
# 1.
