Missing utility disk/drivers

Postby Patricia » Sat Jan 13, 2007 19:25

Hi

My Fujitsu Siemens comp came with the 'restoring installed software book which refers to a 'CD/DVD Drivers & Utilities', but no such disk was supplied with the comp. I've tried the Fuji download page but the video card driver from there doesn't work (we end up with a very dark screen).

The Comp is a Fujitsu Siemens PL630.

Can anyone help?

I now see you have started a new post,

If you go here
http://www.fujitsu-siemens.co.uk/rl/ser ... chsupport/

Downloads & put in the correct model no. found on the back of the tower, you should be able to get the correct drivers. Note my no. is 10 digits.

Failing that, as in my previous post go to http://www.gennersales.co.uk/

Patricia, I see you have posted a few times.

Have you just done a fresh install? Normally after using the windows xp recovery disk, your display should work. It will load generic drivers. So it should be ok.
Did you right click the desktop & change the properties?

Has it ever worked correctly? Try using system restore.

Or try going to the device manager: control panel\\performance & maintenance\\system\\hardware\\device manager , display adapters, right click what ever you have, properties update or roll back driver.

Drivers & Utilities CD/DVD

Postby Patricia » Sun Jan 14, 2007 18:39

Hi Bubblegum

Thanks for your advice, much appreciated. After Windows was re-installed (XP Pro replacing XP Home), the Generic driver works but is very slow at refreshing AND scrolling. The driver obtained from Fujitsu's download site installs but then I have to revert to the generic as I just end up with a very, very dark screen, even with brightness at max.

Genner Sales only sells the recovery disk cd.

Any other suggestions? Anyone else hit this snag?

Patricia.

Hi, you could try nvidia or ati websites, see if they have anything better.

Glad to be of assistance.
