Hey! I suppose you can try installing the newer drivers you need, from other notebook assemblers, which you have mentioned. Its not like there is a specially adapted soundmax chip for each manufacturer, and so the drivers should be universal and interoperable with all notebook assemblers.
It only might be that, you need to look for specific drivers that match your chipset. At least that was the case with my HP notebook, which needed soundmax drivers adapted for nForce chipset, but I could not find drivers for this chipset from any other notebook assembler, and so had to stick with older drivers provided by HP. But that was my experience with an old soundmax chip, maybe the newer soundmax chip and drivers are adapted for all chipsets, I cannot tell that. But there should be no harm in trying to install drivers from other notebook assemblers.
