Fujitsu PRIMERGY - TX100 S3 - Windows 2011 Server

Postby LemondropCreative » Tue Sep 11, 2012 18:53

Hello

Can anyone advise us what we are doing wrong with the following installation of Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard on a Fujitsu PRIMERGY - TX100 S3 server.

We are using the ServerView Suite Version 10.12.05U June 2012 DVD and backing up the media via network.

We run the installation manager and follow the steps and enter the Operating System into the wizard.

We select the details for our software – Windows Small Business server 2011 and continue but under configuration now shown in the left hand column the operating system shows as Windows Server 2008. If we continues and add all the user name, password and key etc and start the installation it asks us to install our Operating System DVD.

We then get the message which includes “ Windows installation does not match with the operating system selected in the operating system wizard”

Any help on what we are missing would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Davie

SBS 2011 is based on a W2K8 R2 kernel so that probably explains why it says 2008 on the left

Is this a Microsoft retail CD or a Fujitsu OEM CD?

If it is the OEM CD, when it asks for the OS CD you actually need to give it the W2K8 R2 recovery CD. I think the CD marked SBS2011 is actually add-ons and run-time CD - not the base installation CD
