KVM over IP

Postby sumbloke » Wed Jun 06, 2012 15:19

Hi,

We have recently aquired a Fujitsu s3-1601 KVM switch which we wish to use to remotely access servers via console session.

All has been set up and everything works fine when working on the RC25 KVM itself . All servers are accessible and no issues experienced.

However, when accessing the KVM via web browser, the connections tab displays all attached servers together with the status but no hyperlink is available to open a console session with any of the attached devices. the manual indicates there should also be a STATUS tab which is also not displayed.

We access the KVM via https session as the S3 client does not detect the switch!!

I have read the manuals and am confident the device is set up correctly. There are also no firmware upgrade available for the device.

Can anyone help please.

Hi...

Definition by numbers:
16 = means 16 ports for 16 (or even more, if cascaded) different servers (machines)
0 = defines number of IP consoles that can be connected at the same time
1 = defines number of analogue (physical) consoles that can be connected at the same time

So... What this means is that you were supposed to purchase a KVM switch that has other digit than zero at the "one before last" number designation...
Sorry...

Regards,
Josip
