repair w2k3 SBS on TX200 S4

Postby tgermain » Mon Mar 19, 2012 14:45

I need to repair the installation of Sbs 2003 on a TX 200 S4 using the original Windows Sbs Cd.

Because when I am trying to use original SBS CD, I have the following message:

After booting from original cd and press F6 to load LSI Mega Raid SAS driver we get blue screen and we can't access Hard Drives (configured Raid 10 on Sas controller).

The error is :
"Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard
drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard driver to make sure
it is properly configured and terminated. Run Chkdsk/F to check for
hard drive corruption, and and then restart your computer."

Is there a way to boot from the original Microsoft SBS CD and start the repair or installation console?
Thanks in advance

No.
This is not the error.
This is just a part of the dumb text that Microsoft writes on their Blue Screens.

The error line would start with the word STOP:

And if it's STOP 0x7B, then you chose the wrong driver. Please note there are plenty of them: x86 and x64, those that work without SP2 and those that don't, some for specific LSI controllers, ...

Without more detailed information about what you have and what exactly you tried, it's hard to give advice, sorry.

Thanks a lot for the reply,
You are right, my explaination must be more detailled:

So, first of all, blue screen show me at the end of the message:
STOP: 0X0000007B

Secondly, implemented W2K3 STRD x86 version on my server is R2.

Finaly, adaptec SCSI Card 29320LPE is implemented to control my TAPE drive,
and LSI 5/6 MegaRaid SAS seems to be implemented to manage SAS Hard drives.

Sorry for my english, and hope details provided can help you.

Well, the 0x7B is exactly what I expected, see my last post.
And I also already posted the remedy: use a different driver.

It might be a good idea to remove the Adaptec controller during the repair, as this (bootable) controller could irritate the repair process.

If your repair disk is indeed W2K3 x86 R2, then you definitely need to check whether SP2 has been applied to the installed system afterwards. If it was applied, you should NOT try to repair using the original delivery medium, as this could overwrite vital system files...
