event viewer

hi new to the forum,i have a fujitsu esprimov5535 notebook/laptop,recently i connected my ipod touch to the laptop and downloaded the latest firmware on the ipod,since then the ipod is not being reconized and further more i am getting a pop up warning the event viewer is not working with an error -50 has any body had a similar problem and hopefully a remerdy to solve it ROY

hi DAVIE,thanks for responce will try your suggestion,cant seem to get the answer to this problem outside of the forum so will post it in the note book forum ROY
