How to erase an array of logical drives without erasing data

Postby infinito » Sat Feb 20, 2010 23:56

Hi,

I have 2 servers RX300 S2. The motherboard of one of them broke down.
I have transfered the disks to the other server and build a logical array of disks with WebBios. The problem is that I was wrong and now i want to undo this array without losing data. How can I do that?

How can i transfer a disk from one server to another to access the data in the disk ?

Thanks for any help

I don't think that deleting an array will delete your data. Normally it is when you build an array and the array gets initialised that any data on the disks get deleted.

If you create an array with exactly the same parameters as on the previous system and ensure that it is not initialised (check the options on create very carefully), then theoretically you should see the original data. But the RAID software wasn't really designed for that sort of thing, so there is no guarantee that there won't be some problem.
