Centos on Econel 200

Postby brownfc » Fri Mar 23, 2007 9:11

has anyone managed to install Centos 4.4 on a Econel 200, using the onboard Sata RAID (megaide)? I tried using the drivers supplied for Redhat Enterprise 4 update 4 and the install seemed successful (RAID was recognised and formatted) but then I recieved a kernel panic on the first restart:

mkrootdev: label /1 not found
mounting root filesystem
mount: error 2 mounting ext2
mount: error 2 mounting none
switching to new root
switchroot: mount failed 22
Kernel panic

I did come across postings that suggested editing the megaide.ko drivers but these seemed to be for centos 4.2.

we have one Econel 200 S2 with CentOS.
We have installed Centos5 on the Machine and everything works perfect.
Perhaps the installation of CentOS 5 instead of 4.4 is a solution of your Problem.
If you want to stay with Centos 4.4, I have no idea if this is working.
