Booting to USB drive

Postby brihartley » Thu Jan 12, 2006 13:55

Hi,

I want to boot to a usb drive on a Stylistic ST5032D.
I have a usb stick which boots on newer dell latitude laptops, but the Stylistic does not even look at it !
Is this a bios feature, or do I have some configuration to do ?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,
It's very easy. Connect the USB-Drive > Power on > press F2 to get into the BIOS > check at the Advanced tab USB settings > USB support must be enabled > if so, go to Boot tab (if not enable it and reboot into the bios) > go to Boot Sequence > Harddisk > now you should see the USB device > give the USB device a higher priority than the HD > Exit > Reboot. Now the system starts from the USB device.
