Beeping noise when I switch on

Postby gingersmudge » Sat Dec 31, 2005 14:35

I have tried to improve the performance of an elderly Xpert PC by adding RAM. When I switched the PC back on it started an intermitent beep. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

The PC does not like the RAM. But to get help you need to tell more exactly what your problem is:

- Describe the beeps

- Say what PC you have (serial number or mainboard name)

- Say what memory you already had and what you added

If you look up the bios you should be able to find the relevant beep codes somewhere on the net but it could be something as simple as reseating the memory chips.
