hard drive issues

Postby rikki » Mon Sep 18, 2006 13:53

after searching the forums ive found out that my hard drive is broken in some way. before i buy a new one i have a few questions i would like answering if someone doesnt mind.

do i have to get a new one or can they be repaired by a specialist? if i can, do you know a likely price for the repair?

can any hard drive connect to my motherboard or would i have to buy a specific one/type?

can anyone reccomend a hard drive to buy, doesnt have to be big because i have an external one where i can save the bulk of my things. quality over quantity would be prefered

thanks :D

Did you run some sort of HDD diagnostic program? I'd suggest you to check out MHDD software (read more here), and see what it will tell you after the test.

tried that, it didnt work (or more likely i didnt work properly)
so if someone could answer my questions instead of giving me something else to do, i would be very apreciative

thanks

i meant that i followed the instructions as best i could and nothing happend, which is probably my fault as i may have done something wrong rather than the program not working
