Fujitsu hard Drive

Postby joe_london » Wed Jun 28, 2006 12:36

I have a small Fujitsu hard Drive and wondered if this Company did a similar product to Maxtor's free to download Maxiblast to enable me to wipe the drive and format or clean install without doing an Fdisk?

If so can you give me a link to the product as I can't find it on the Companies Web Site.

Many thanks,

Joe.

Unfortunately those tools don't work. Basically all I want to know is if fujitsu do a similar tool to maxiblast for formatting their hard drives.

Alternatively an email address of their support would help.

Thanks.

Joe.

are you 100% sure its a fujitsu hard drive - as my scaleo has a seagate it in (and they have utilities avaiable).

Open it up and take a look (or run a diagnostics program ie everquest)

Yes I am, I'm holding it in my hand and thats what it says.

Model Number MPE3084AE - JL ID: JW EFIP
Part Number CAO5743-B988200EL
SER NO 05192860 Date 2000-03

I bought this myself new as a replacement drive for a Viglen Computer I was running at that time.

I know Seagate do their own version of this tool as do maxtor which I have.

Its much easier than using fdisk.

If anyone has the fujitsu support email address i can contact them direct.

Thanks,

Joe.

Maybe you should try to get some information on the Fujitsu site:

http://www.fujitsu.com

Not on the Fujitsu Siemens Site. It's always better to contact the manufacturer with such problems.

i'm not 100% sure what you want from the disk utility program.

Many just offer a format and a disk copy utility - which you can do yourself with many free utilities.

If you want a good format like writing zero's to the drive the best utility I have found which will totally erase your data is nuke and boot http://dban.sourceforge.net/ just burn the image to a disk and boot your pc with it in it.

100% secure and fast.

Thank you all for your help,

I've now found what I was looking for via one of the links you provided above.
