SCENIC x102 P4 Graphics Problem..Please help

Postby holmep » Fri Jan 29, 2010 10:27

Hi,

I hope you can help; I have a problem with one of our SCENIC x102 P4 machines.

I have installed a new PCI graphics card, and windows have recognised it; however when I try to look in Display properties the new card is not picked up. I have tried latest drivers for the card and tried to disable the onboard graphics card, however there is no option in the BIOS.

The machine is running Windows 7. I have booted into Safe Mode, and disabled the onboard card, however when Windows boots, it installs the onboard one again.

For something so simple, its taking forever to get this machine to pick up the second card as a primary, so I can have dual screen.

I have disabled the onboard, turned off the machine, and installed the new car, plugged the VGA cable into the new card, and no post screen, plugged it into the on board, and there is it :(

I have another x102, and again, this was a 5 minute job, because there was an option in the BIOS to select PCI VGA as the graphics adapter.

Please help…

Hi.
Most m/boards switch from onboard to the new card automatically when you install it.Have you tried the new card in another machine.(it may be faulty).
Please post your m/board make and model.

Hi.
Looking at the manual there doesn't appear to be any obvious way to disable on board graphics (as i said the switch should be automatic)
I noticed you "disabled" your onboard graphics.Try uninstalling it.switch your pc off then install the new card.
It is possible that there is an irq conflict so try using a different pci slot

Can't understand why it's not switching.
Just wondering why only one machine has the bios option, have you upgraded the bios or m/board on any of the machines?

Hi,

Not not managed to update the BIOS because trying to find a floppy disk, is like looking for a needle in a haystack!!!
Do you know if there are any flash files for the bios, that can be run under Windows?

OK, thanks.

I will try that, and post back my findings...

Ok, unfortunately none of these will work under Windows 7...

Will have to try and find a floppy disk...
