Bought AMCC/3ware 9650SE-24M sata raid card (8x pci-e), and it's not detected when i put it in 16x pci-e slot on my Scenic P PC with p4/i915 chipset D1931 motherboard. Upgraded BIOS upto latest i could find (ver 5.00 R1.12.1931 / 05/03/2005). No go. I cannot put it in another pci-e slot there (1x one). On boot nor card bios gets loaded, nor it is seen by drivers / tools. Tried to put card in self-assembled PC with DFI motherboard, card is seen & works just fine.
Are there any jumpers/settings/bios upgrades for card to work in pci-e 16x slot (that originally probably is intended for use with external graphic card)?

as latest BIOS is dated by 2005 and this serie is now among old products, somehow i hope less and less to see get it working without ugly hacks, like using extra expensive adapter pcie x16 to x1 or cutting open pcie x1 slot to fit card there as in some googled up suggestions. That almost for sure voids warranty and even if it works, will greatily reduce performance. Hheh, life is wonderful <g>
