[Scenic] connecting additonal USB ports to D1219 motherboard

Postby TriXXX » Fri Jan 26, 2007 13:06

Hi everybody!

I have Scenic xB computer with D1219 motherboard. There's an 11 pin male plug (2 rows, 5 and 6 pins) on motherboard and I need to connect it with two 5-pin connectors for USB bracket (pins in a connector are with red, white, green, black and grey-black wire). I'didn't find any scheme or clue in manual, just the location of USB plug on board.
Does anybody know how to plug such connectors in the motherboard or rewire them?

Interesting that here the photo and schematic layouts of the MB do not fit each other: there is not any ISA on the photo...

Also may be you could find some hints from here.

Or just use a tester and the picture to check, where you have voltage+ and voltage-. Then use some logic on how to align conectors. ;)

I finally used multimeter and got these (rounded) voltages (in volts):

Code: Select all

front   | |0|0|0|0|5|   back of
<--     |3|5|0|0|0|0|   the case -->

... and connected sockets so that each red wire is against 5V pin...

It seems to work... for now...

Well, if it works this mean that you did not miss data pins (or you would have errors). Seems like everything is ok in this case.

Congratulations! :)
