Scenic T problems with memory upgrade

Postby Duponi » Wed Aug 23, 2006 9:10

I have a ScenicT i810e with 1 x 128 Mb SDRAM. Now I replaced the stick with 2 x 256 ram. The PC works normaly, but continues to show 128 Mb (both BIOS and Win2000). It should be sufficient to enter the BIOS, save it and the new RAM is recognised, shouldn'it? at least it worked like this in my former upgrades.
any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

maybe this site can help you to find out, why your memory doesn't work:

thanks for the url.
the problem is that siemens has different specifications, in this list, they describes 133 sdrams, in the description of the motherboard they are speaking of 100th, and no chip bigger than 16 Mb. Ihave bought 133, anyway they should be compatible to 100, and there are 8 chips on it, 8 x 16 = 128, so I match the specifications.
The only thing I can imagine is, that you need doubleside sticks, allthough it is not mentionned nor in the list, neither in the manual of the mainboard.
