How to recover Bios Password on a D1107 Mainboard

Postby AEHNE » Sat Nov 04, 2006 19:05

I bought a used Siemens D 1107 Mainboard and received it without the Bios Password. Is there any chance to get a Master Password or to corrupt the bios, that it opens.
The problems is that I don´t even get to the DOS Prompt.

look in the manual... there must be somehow to reset the bios. (if you don't have the manual try searching for it using google or something)

Resetting the bios won't harm your computer in any way so don't worry...

If you look on the board there should be a bios socket with a jumper on it, if you change the jumper over then boot up it will ask if you want to revert to default bios settings then you do this shutdown put the jumper back to how it was and that should have reset the password

The right answer was switch 1 and 4 on the Dip Switch to on and then to off again. Unfortunately this isn´t mentioned in the manual. Got the tip in the Usenet.
