Q550 WWlan modem trouble.

Postby Alissonbell » Tue Sep 20, 2011 20:25

Greetings,

I´m having trouble to find and configure the sierra wwlan modem. I´ve brought with wwlan, i see the slot to insert the SIM card, i´ve inserted the card but i can´t put to work.
I didn´t see anything in bios that points to wwlan modem.
Not either in windows device manager.
I´ve installed all drivers of support page (about wwlan) but the only program listed in "startup menu" is "aircard watcher".
The "aircard watcher" says "device not detected".
The "deskupdate" doesn´t show nothing about wwlan, other devices yes.

1) The WWLAN should be appearing in the BIOS ?
2) Whats is the name of device in device manager ?

Thanks for any advice.

Your talking about UMTS. First, it is necessary to install the "Sierra Wireless WWAN Driver". Additionally, to establish a UMTS connection under Windows 7, the software "Sierra Wireless AirCard Watcher" must be used.
Make sure the WLAN switch is on.

It was an optional device so you would have to specify at time of purchase otherwise you have the sim slot but no gubbins behind it.http://www.sierrawireless.com/resources/support/troubleshooting/AirCard_troubleshooting_wizard/no_device.html

I dont know that much about it but did find a tutorial: http://www.sierrawireless.com/resources/images/demos/aircardwatcher2010.swf
