Celsius H230 - How to intall Windows Xp Sp2 to SATA drive?

Postby Porem » Fri Feb 17, 2006 0:55

I've got a Fujitsu-Siemens H230 notebook with SATA harddisk. I had to use an external USB FDD during the intallation so that my SATA drive could work. I was be able to make a partition and format it. The Setup went on with installing Windows Xp but it stopped soon and asked me for a disk with Intel Application Accelerator. I found this driver and copied to a floppy, but my USB FDD didn't work any more, so it was the point where the installation of Windows Xp broke.

Any idea?

Hi

It is easier to create a WinXP CD that has all drivers included than to use a external USB Floppy since not all brands support the installation of WinXP.

Download the SATA driver http://support.fujitsu-siemens.de/Downl ... BD3B6C1E1F and download also the tool XP-ISO-Builder http://www.webdesign-schiek.de/xpisobui ... a1_up1.exe (Webpage http://www.webdesign-schiek.de/xpisobui ... schreibung ) (You can change the language to English after you installed the program.)
Include the drivers as controller driver and as device driver as you can see here http://www.amilo-forum.de/topic,3467,-I ... html#39273 (the explanations are German, but you can have a look at the pictures.)
My Tip: Burn the image on a rewritable CD (CD-RW) to have a second chance if something didnt work.

NLite

Hi,

Thank you for the answer!
I found the same solution, but another software. It's a very handy freeware. The name of the software is NLite and it is downloadable from the following site: http://www.nliteos.com/
By means of NLite you can creat your own bootable Windows with all of the requested drivers. Finally you will get an iso file of the setup disk.

Good luck!

xp ISO Builder

Postby Porem » Mon Feb 27, 2006 0:56

Hi,

I had no problem with NLite. The software vas easy to use and the image worked properly. I haven't got any problems with the Celsius H230 since then.
I have already downloaded the xp iso Builder. It's good to have some alternative solution to the same problem. It could be useful in the future.

So, thank you very much!

Gabor
