Windows XP Downgrade issue

Postby gmaghesh » Mon Dec 13, 2010 5:40

Hi,

We are trying to downgrade from windows 7 to windows XP on “CELSIUS M470-2“ Workstation.

When we try to boot & try to install windows SAS harddisk is not detected.

Now we are trying to install Windows XP Setup(F6) use a usb flash drive instead of a floppy drive to find drivers for a SAS hard drive. After that SAS harddisk has detcted & we are able format but while copying the files it ask me for insert a FDD again.

Please guide me any BIOS configuration or any spefice FDD model has to be used to isnatll windows XP.

Regards,
Maghesh

Windows Xp doesnt support usb sticks during setup hence why this happens , best to get a usb floppy drive (this will not be seen as hard drive or removable storage) and will work.

The other thing people use is nlite
http://www.nliteos.com/guide/

never used it however guides are out there
