Composition of Recovery Partition

Postby Programmer » Fri Aug 17, 2012 8:48

Hi

I have an Celsius H710, and were wondering how the recovery partition on the HD-drive are put together?

Screen dump from Computer Management:

When I worked with recovery partitions in the past, there have only been one partition either first or last on the drive.

Why is this recovery partition split into 3 partitions? What is the purpose of this?

With the Windows 7 inbox tool “diskpart” you can list the table of partitions and also delete the hidden HDBR partitions.
The complete diskpart instruction set and instruction help information can be shown with the parameter –h

Please note:
Do not delete the volume “WINRE” ! This volume is required to boot the system.
The HDBR recovery process will not work after: partition deletion, partition sizing and partition movement.

a maximum of 19 GB of hard disk space is reserved for system recovery (average space will be around 13 GB.)
