R610 power on

Postby teoadams » Wed Jan 18, 2012 12:32

Hi, I'm a newby owner of an used R610 and I have this problem: it's not possible to power on the system at all, when I press the power on button, the green light power on for less than one second, the fans begin to turn for less than one second and then everything go off. Any ideas? thank for any suggestion. Teo.

possible motherboard failure.
Try removing all RAM (memory) sticks from the machine when the machine is off. Try powering on the machine with no memory your machine should beep load and clear it has no useable memory i think the code is 1-3-3-1 (1 beep, 3 short, 3 short, 1 beep)

Any beeps a good note down what beep you get - check here for beep codes:

no beeps = Not good possible motherboard or cpu

Tried without RAM, without hard disk and without video card but nothing has changed: same green flash for a while and then nothing.
