We have an Esprimo E400 E85+ Core i5. We have installed a graphics card like the one recomended by Fujitsu for this PC because the recomended card was out of stock.
The recomended card is a Fujitsu nVIDIA GeForce GT420 1GB LP, and the card we have installed is a MSI N440GT 1GB LP (with nVIDIA GeForce GT420 chip). Both cards are PCI-E 2.0 x16 with GDDR3.
If we install the MSI card the PC boots fine first time; after that, the PC does not boot any more; sometimes when we push the power button the PC does not do anything (maybe electrically blocked?). Other times chasis, power and processor fans gives some turns then stop, and after a few seconds it seems like the mother board is going to boot normally, but it does not, and keep on hanged before the post. If we remove the graphic card and then we plug it again, or if we unplugged the system from the electrical source for several minutes, we can boot fine, but again only once. Always the graphics card is plugged, the same symptons are given, no matter if we plug the monitor to the PCI-E card or to the integrated graphics card, or if we use the VGA or the DVI interface.
Obviously we have tested the card in other systems, including some other Esprimo E400 (although none of them was an E85+), and the graphics card worked always fine.
We have called Fujitsu support (the PC is in garanty with presencial technical support), and they have changed the motherboard and the power supply, but the problem remains the same.
Anybody has some idea about this problem?
The only diference I found between this two cards is that the Fujitsu one has DVI, VGA and Display Port interfaces, and the MSI has DVI, VGA and HDMI interfaces. It's posible that this concrete desktop model (E85+) needs to be connected to the display port interface to work correctily?
Please we need help urgently.
Thanks in advance.
