ESPRIMO P1510 random freezing

Postby Vanek48 » Thu Jan 26, 2012 12:33

Hi!
I was hoping somebody here could help me out. My computer is about 1 year old. I started noticing these little itty bitty freezing issues. it doesn't matter what i'm doing - playing a game, surfing the net or just waving my mouse around on the screen with no programs running: it still does it. quite often too. maybe twice a hour. the freeze is about 1-3 second long, and if there is audio playing it will repeat a fraction of it like... DADADADADADADA for the duration of the freeze. then everything goes back to normal like nothing happened.
Windows log show's "The Intel(R) Management Engine Interface is being reset." when computer is freezing.
Configuration: win7 x64 home premium, i5-650, 12 gb ram. ati hd5670.
Please help!

mayneed to disable AMT
Go into the Bios by pressing F2.

Select None from the screenshot below.

Save and Exit.

There are two places to disable AMT feature
1. In BIOS, Advance chipset Feature ->Intel AMT (Enabled,Disabled)
2.CTRL+P to go AMT Menu(Inte(R) ME Control state(Enabled,Disabled)

In BIOS, Advance chipset Feature - taking a picture of the front menu is not helping.
what options are in there.

If nothing in there try CTRL+P but you have to be quick after power on to catch it.

Suggested fix:
If you are a home user or small business user, you absolutely do not need to have this software running

Startup type : Windows Service
Service Name : LMS
Display Name : Intel(R) Management and Security Application Local Management Service
Dll path : Not Answered.
Image path : C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\LMS\LMS.exe
Current Status : Auto/Running

How to disable this service.
Open a command prompt. (Run as Administrator in Windows vista/7)
Copy command line and Paste.
sc stop "LMS"
sc config "LMS" start= disabled

How to delete this service.
sc delete "LMS"

Done.!
Close the command prompt

If it says "The specified service does not excist as an installed service" when you type sc stop "LMS"
then we assume it has nothing to do with AMT/intel

post back here if this fixes your freezing.
Thanks
