V5535

Postby mariogriffiths » Tue Dec 21, 2010 13:19

I've had my laptop a couple of years now on vista. Had a major problem with connecting to the Internet, turned out it was vista so I uninstalled vista and put XP on instead. That fixed the Internet problem but now is crashes every time I try to run a couple of games I have. (fm, civilisation) it goes to the blue screen saying the problem is "sisgrv" I'm pretty sure this is something to do with the drivers.
I've updated XP to the latest download as well at direct x 9.0 which the games say it needs but still no luck.
Please help!

Are you running the driver from the fujitsu driver download page for this product here:

The device manager shows nothing up, I'm not sure about about this if the latest driver from Fujitsu. I've downloaded what I think is the latest 1 from the sis website. Could you post the link for fujitsu download? I'm struggling to find it on the site.

Cheers

The only other thing i can think of is chipset driver but couldnt find this on sis website.

Are you running SP3 if not would recommend you update to sp3. running games on a notebook/laptop is hit and miss as the developers do not make the app to run on those chipsets (recommendation list will be Pc related )

Think I'm running SP3, not sure where I'd go to find out that though.
I've downloaded SiS M672, that has stopped the blue screen coming up, but now it just crashes and turns off the laptop, then when I load it back up again, a Microsoft Windows message pops up, saying "system has recovered from a serious error". When I hit the more info button I get the error signature of -

BCCode: 100000ea BCP1:83124418 BCP2: 82F72EE0 BCP3: F7A2FCB4
BCP4: 00000002 OSVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 3_0 Product: 256_1

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help so far sabrex

Its pretty severe when a unit just powers off with no warning. (usualy down to overheat) are you sure its not turn off and reboot (auto restart on error)

Navigate to the Control Panel in Windows XP by left-clicking on Start, followed by Settings and then choosing Control Panel.

In the Control Panel window, open System.

Note: In Microsoft Windows XP, depending on how your operating system is setup, you may not see the System icon. To correct this, click on the link on the left-hand side of the Control Panel window that says Switch to Classic View.

In the System Properties window, click on the Advanced tab.

Locate the Startup and Recovery area and click on the Settings button.

In the Startup and Recovery window, locate and uncheck the check box next to Automatically restart.

Click OK in the Startup and Recovery window.

Click OK in the System Properties window.

note what the BSOD is saying should be a STOP:0x

It wasn't clicked, when I said that it turns the laptop off, its actually just doing the same as if it goes to the BSOD, it just goes to a completely black screen. It just doesnt do anything so I have to turn it off & then on again. ( I've tried pressingall the buttons, Ctrl, Alt, Del etc but nothing happens)

Civ IV is running as straight out the box.
Football manager 2010 is on patch 3 (v10.3.0)
FM crashes on start up, as does the Editor for FM. Civ does the same
