Blu-Ray Player Software

Postby EnglishStan » Mon Jul 12, 2010 21:03

I tried a Blu-Ray disc in my P1500 today for the first time and was greeted with an error telling me that Windows Media Player doesn't support the disc.

Similar error occurs in VLC Player.

I installed the supplied PowerDVD software and was told in order to watch Blu-Ray discs, I need to purchase PowerDVD 10 or something like that. Can someone explain to me why I do not get Blu-Ray player supplied to me with a Blu-Ray player? It's very frustrating!!

Hallo,
I' ll try to help you if possible.
In my case (two years ago) I started PowerDVD and - after registration - had to search a Update version 7 to 7.3 .
You should start Power DVD wihout a BD disk inserted and repeat after updating with a BD.
Good luck schnecke(m)

It was asking me to pay something like £39.99 for PowerDVD before I could watch BluRay movies.

Do BluRay films have the software built into them?

Hallo,
I had the choice between registration with update(free) and upgrade(to pay). The key of PowerDVD is included by pre-installation. Try it again

Hello,

I have pretty much the same problem so I won't start a new thread about it.
I've read here http://www.reviewmaze.com/2011/01/windo ... tware.html that there are 5 blu ray software players on the market and it seems that Roxio's is the cheapest one (about $40). Could somebody share some experience with this player? I am wondering does it work fine with our hardware?
