NVIDIA Display Driver Stopped Responding

Postby EnglishStan » Tue Jul 06, 2010 17:59

Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

Hello people,

I am having issues with my GPU (I suspect) at the moment. I get the error "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 197.45 stopped responding and has successfully rceovered." when trying to do one of the following:

[*][*]Launch an image using Windows Photo Viewer
[*]Launch a video using VLC PLayer
[*]Watch a video on Youtube

The screen goes blank then the error message pops up in the notification area. Sometimes the image or video works, and sometimes it just crashes the software launched.

My specs are as follows:

[*]Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
[*]RAM: 4GB
[*]CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.5GHz
[*]GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 220

Many thanks[*]
