Esprimo P2540 Questions

Postby Matt1234 » Mon Jan 11, 2010 8:19

Hi,
I'm thinking of maybe getting the Esprimo P2540.

Am I able to upgrade the RAM, Hard Drive etc without voiding the warranty?

I've been looking in the support section at drivers etc and I notice that there are no SATA drivers listed for this device. Wouldn't these be needed for the system to see the hard drive?

Apparently the Graphics card in the one I'm looking at is the "Intel® GMA 4500" but I don't see the drivers listed for that. The only options available in the drivers section are: G41 / G-MCH (Onboard on D2840-A1x), GeForce 9300GE 256MB and Radeon HD3450 256MB DualDVI-I. Which option is the Intel GMA 4500?

Thanks

Hi,

yes, you are able to upgrade RAM and HDD without loosing the warranty. The P2540 can be upgraded to 4 GB of RAM (2x 2GB).

Windows XP (Servicepack 1 and above), Vista and Windows 7 support the SATA-Controller and do not need a specific driver. Later on you install the drivers for the Intel Chipset which eventually will update the operating systems drivers.

The GMA 4500 Chip is covered with the G41 / G-MCH-Driver.
