[P2520] - Roaming Profiles D2740 motherboard -solved-

Postby gcsljim » Wed Aug 27, 2008 10:39

Has anyone experienced a problem with roaming profiles not saving/uploading to the server with this motherboard?

Looking at other forums/blogs there exists a problem caused by the Nvidia control panel holding open the NTUSER.DAT file in the users profile. Presumably as the integrated graphics on this motherboard is an Nvidia GeForce 7050/nForce 630i this is causing our problem.

We don't need the fancy control panel, etc in a business environment - simply a driver would do. It would appear the driver alone is not available!!

Help!

Hi Alexander,
After lots investigation, we find a correlation with the video driver Nvidia.
When this one is not loaded, the roaming profiles works.
I make a call to the Belgium Helpdesk ([2325585722/11/2341226]
But the help desk tell me, it's not a Fujitsu-Siemens problem. He tell me to see this one with NVidia company. But the Nvidia supports are NOT for OEM components.
The help desk doesn't want make anything's!!!
For us, we by a FS Computer not a Nvidia chips.
I try with all drivers that can I find in the Nvidia web site. The problem is not resolved

It is possible for FS to check this problem.?

Best Regards

Hello,

as you already noticed, the problem has been caused by the NVIDIA video driver.
NVIDIA has informed us that the problem would be solved with the driver version 169.xx.

Please visit the NVIDIA driver download page and there use "Option 2: Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products."
This should solve the problem.

Otherwise, please tell me which operating system you use and which video driver version you have running on your system.

Kind regards,

Jürgen

I can confirm that after some dialogue with the UK support team, the latest Nvidia drivers solved the problem.

Thanks for the comments on this problem
