If i recall the L series has a realtek audio. Try installing the Hd audio driver from
http://www.realtek.com.tw/Click download at the top of the page

and if you have 32bit OS select the 32 bit or 64bit if your windows version is 64bit

There are extra settings in the control panel called "Realtek HD Audio Manager" this area needs to be checked if no audio through headphones.
1. Go to realtek manager in control panel.
2. Click on audio input/output tab on the top.
3. Click on the setting button next to analog.
4. There, remove the checkmark from "Disable Front Panel Jack Detection". Once you tick on that option, your front jack should start working.
