I have similar recent problem with my somewhat aged Centrino Lifebook C1110. Suddenly, the power on button will not start the Laptop, turning off almost immediately. By continually pressing this quickly it then starts (finally) and operates OK, until of course I power off and the same problem arisies but intermittently. Like others, I have depressed some areas of the keyboard surround and maybe this has the desired effect.
To take a look at the button, is it easy enough to simply lift the keyboard section and look underneath?

Thanks

Hi all
ok I have got hold of 6 lifebooks c1110 e7110 and e4010 all of these 6 have this issue of turning on for split second and turning off.
I am currently looking into the issue, I have found that if i hold the cooler on the cpu down slightly then the laptop starts and runs fine, reboot without holding cpu it is back to no go. hold cpu agian and it starts.
I have looked under the cooler and the heatsink paste on all of them is rock solid so I'm going to try some new paste and see what happens.
I will keep this thread posted as to what I find
regards
keith

From the german site:

The problem is a Power-Mico Controller IC at the mainboard underneath the cooler of the processor.
This can be for instance a ADP3205.
The solder points will be break / ***** because of load / pressure whwn moving or something like that.

Remove uppersite parts of the laptop
Remove the cooler
Find the IC and repare / make good the solder points around these IC.
I understand that some german people did this with a Föhn (little one I think to dry your hair)

Hi I have Fujitsu Lifebook C1110 and it is not working at all. I need some help to find what is wrong with it and if it is possible to repaire, it is out of guarantee.
So the problem is that when I press the power button nothing happens, even the fans ARE NOT working. I've been told that the motherboard is out of order. But I can't find any motherboard to change mine. Can somebody tell me if there is any other model from which I could pick up the motherboard and put it in my C1110?
