Removing optical drive from Amilo Pi 3625

Postby Digby » Wed Jan 29, 2014 9:42

Wonder if anyone can help. How do you remove the CD drive from an Amilo notebook Pi 3625? I cannot seem to find the screw holding the drive in place.

Thanks

There is one screw seen once the keyboard has been removed. dont forget to remove the top panel and the 1 screw underneath for keyboard labeled KB

Hi Sabrex,

Many thanks for your answer as I have exactly the same issue. Nevertheless, Could you explain what you intend with "remove top panel" ? Which part exactly are you referring to and how do you remove it. Removing keyboard seems not so easy as it should...

it should be a case of removing battery, remove any screws near rear likely 3 screws where battery sits possibly 2-3 screws either side of that, the top panel is then removable, this is the black panel above keyboard just below the screen it should just come up.
the keyboard should come up be carefull of the keyboard FPC cable- Release keyboard cable by sliding the ZIF connector towards up direction. you might be able to get away with not disconnecting the keyboard. once drive replacement done reverse order to fit back
