Pi1536 CPU Upgrade

Postby martin20009 » Tue Mar 08, 2011 20:54

I'm not sure if this has been covered, I have had a look around but with no luck. I got a t7200 CPU because looking at the data sheet it was the best bet without changes. I fitted no problem but when I switched it on the power, hd, num luck caps lock and scroll lock lights on no display. After a few seconds it reboots.
I have tried resetting bios by removing battery without luck. I'm wondering if the CPU is faulty but wondered if any one else has had this issue.
Thanks for any help

What letter direction did you put the processor in? Towards laptop battery? I mean can you read letters on processor normally or in opposite?

The processor writing was upside down. The gold triangle was in the right top corner. The original CPU came out the same way.
Thanks

What is the processor's socket? 478? Or 479?
