Amilo D? Bad Flash

Postby dylan772 » Tue Mar 08, 2011 12:57

I was given a laptop with a motherboard #37-UD400D-00C. I believe it's a Amilo D7830(Fujitsu)that was sold by Computer Builder's Warehouse under the "Diplomat" brand. CBW is no longer thus no support.
The plate on the back says Personal Computer Model 755110 with a part # of 63-UD4010-40. Is it a Fujitsu mb?
I tried to update the bios. (from Fujitsu)It said it was successful, but now it's bricked. The bios chip sticker says 686 AMIBIOS BA91 6726. The bios chip is AMIC #A29040AL-70. Which is the correct bios update? If I order a pre-flashed chip, will it work? There is no recovery jumper on the board and removing the cmos battery did not work.
Re-naming the bios file to AMIBOOT.ROM as per AMI recovery procedure was futile.
Thanks for your help,
dylan
