Pi1536 with FullHD display!!!

Postby incek82 » Mon Nov 08, 2010 19:55

I would like to share my latest achievement. I've upgraded my Pi 1536 with a new LCD with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels!!! And it was quite cheap. The only thing what you need to buy additionally is a cable which connects motherboard, inverter and display. Originally the 30-pin cable doesn't use all 30 pins and half of them are empty (no wire!). I bought such a cable from Xi1526 model (17"), but I think that such connector from Xi1546 / Xi1547 might fit. I connected the cable to the motherboard and to the inverter, later to the LCD. I bought Samsung LCD because I think it's the best one. It's working amazing with my HD3650 :D
It's running perfectly on: Win XP, Win Vista, Win 7.
Total cost: about 100 euro :D

Hi,
I like your work.

Can you tell me where did you buy the LCD and the cable (ebay?). I wonder if your LCD works with ati 4570?

Thanks.

I've bought my lcd on a local substitute of ebay (allegro.pl), but I've seen that you've got plenty of such stuff on ebay. I'll post my new lcd model soon. As long as new graphic cards operate with external monitors via dvi / hdmi with resolutions up to 2560x2048 (or something like this) so it's not a problem to operate with internal lcd's with resolution of 1920x1200.
