Amilo M1424 wrongly detected as m7424 in bios

hi evry one...thanx a lot to the people responsible in running this website..
I hav an amilo m1424 since 2006.its a gr8 laptop.recently i startd getting overheat problems which i solved.the main problem rite now is that my bios detects my laptop as amilo m7424 instead of m1424.as a result the screen is smaller in bios in windows always.1424 is a 15.4 WIDESCREEN whereas 7424 is 14 inch normal.my display is set to the screen size of m7424.evrythng else in these two laptops hav the same specs.how can i make the bior detect it rite?i dont want to flash the bios if it wont help as it is very risky..plz note both these models hav the same bios even on thd FSc website.plz help..

sorry for delay but we had to verify.
Unfortunately only a servicecenter or partner can change the wrong settings in BIOS. Please contact the helpdesk in your area getting the next Partner nearby.
Only the Partner can set back the system settings in BIOS because of having the correct tools for changing.

thanks a lot for the response...unfortunately i dont think we have a fujitsu partner or service center here in CHITTAGONG,BANGLADESH..any idea if any? and i am out of warranty do you think they will charge me for changing these settings for which i am not responsible??

please call +44 (1344) 475125 to get a info if a servicepartner is available in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
Fujitsu Technology Solutions is also present in India so it could be getting a contact for fixing your problem.
It may be the partner charge you the time he work on.
The update of BIOS is in every case with own risk. Also written in the license conditions you have to except before downloading any kind of update.
Sorry but we hope you get fix the problem with our India colleagues.

thanks a lot once again for the quick response..but there seem to be some mistake with the address.i wrote Chittagong which is in BANGLADESH..A neighbouring country to INDIA..any idea if any technical help here..I am an okay expert in computer softwares..so it wud be really great if u cud giv me sum instructions to fix this myself if any...thanx.tc.

i m sorry i forgot to clarify that i hav not done any kind of bios update..it happened all by itself.i removed the c-mos battery once after this happened.it went back to original state.the bios detected my laptop correctly as m1424 and everything was perfect.after a day or two it again went back to the wrong detection and smaller screen.just thought it wud be worth mentioning these details..i think there must be an easy way to revert back to original settings..plz let me know if any or if i am wrong...hav a good day.May GOD BLESS YOU.thanx.

may be there is not enough power supplied by the CMOS battery and you should exchange the battery. Nevertheless I send you a PM with a contact of the indian support.
