Been battling with getting a friends Li2735 working with XP, disabled advanced SATA support in bios to enable standard XP install.
Downloaded driver pack from this thread (thank you for this) have Lan via RJ45 working fine but no sound device is detected after using the drivers supplied and more importantly no Atheros Wi-Fi even though the launcher allows the orange 'wi-fi' on light to operate.
I have two devices in 'hardware devices' in control panel/system showing a problem
1. Internet Controller
2. PCI Device
I have installed all the drivers from the pack.
Windows update didn't make a difference.

Any ideas, and is there a way to get the advanced SATA drivers working so I can turn on the function in bios.
BTW. Win XP really flies on this laptop... much better, compared to how poor it was on Vista - just unworkable.
Just need to get sound and Wi-Fi working.
Many thanks
You can PM me at rodk@standsunique.com

I'm having the same problem with the wireless.

As well as the processor speed being shown in the system prop's as 997Mhz

i dont think you followed my guide and drivers in sequential order , if so this wouldnt have happened , so i dont know what you have installed ? let me know if you havent fixed it yet nobody else has a problem using my guide , infact everyone says its a lot better than vista . nothing crashes , everything running perfect , and far less resources being used on xp too .
id seriously recommend it , i run tons of heavy duty music software applications all at once that should in theory really test the laptops resources , but the machine handles it perfect through the onboard soundcard too incl additional asio drivers . just flipping perfect matey ... especially at the price they are yee haa !

Here's a small adds for his job.
If you want to keep your Vista running and still want to try XP on your mashine, you can do that no problem.
As usual laptop comes with two partitions – C: and D: this gives as oportunity to our D: for XP Operation System to be installed on. Right.

If your mashine cannot see you hard drive, then you need to install SATA-Drivers to make it working.
Just download a proper version on USB stick memory << http://rapidshare.com/files/164106638/f6flpy32.rar.html >> and when XP installation CD starts, keep your finger on F6 to install the right drivers from USB Stick. Then follow the installation. If your mashine cannot see USB during installation process, you need to enable it in BIOS then.

If you want to create a CD with Microsoft Windows XP SP2 with Slipstreamed SATA and or RAID here's the guide written by Michael Hollinger. http://rapidshare.com/files/164107271/C ... s.pdf.html

During Installation process you'll be asked on which partition you want to install it, Just point to D: and press ENTER, then continue throw the process. After XP installed, you will see on the comeup screen only XP, even you know exactly Vista is still there. Nothing to worry about. Just run this small program and it will do a trick.

Here's the program http://rapidshare.com/files/164111299/F ... l.zip.html created by Pavel Kravchenko.

After XP has been installed, just instaal all drivers what Siggie shared. Abd there you go !!

All the best guys ! My lappy works a treat :D
