[Amilo A] A1650 MY KEYBOARD AND MOUSE DON'T WORK.

Postby dalboy130 » Sun Jan 27, 2008 2:04

I have a amilo 1650 laptop. My keyboard and mouse don't work at all. I have a password to log in aswell so I can't mess with any settings. I have tried a wireless mouse and keyboard and they don't work either. But my usb ports are working because my laptop cooling pad works.

At first the laptop would not start at all for some reason. I accidently push ed the power cord into the usb port in the back. I don't know if this caused this but it would go to "restart your laptop to the last best known setup but would keep restarting". Then thirty minutes later it started, and started going to the windows log in but then I get stuck because the mouse and keyboard doesn't work.

I hope you guys understand what I am saying. if not please reply and I will try and explain it again.

Please please help me.

I have also tried to connect a regular keyboard and mouse to it but they dont work as well.

Not sure how you managed to plug the power cable into a usb port :? However, even though the usb ports are providing power it does not mean they are working properly.
Ok, remove the battery from the laptop and then connect the power cord, leave the battery out of the machine and boot it up, any change ?

Tried it all different ways. Still not working. Does it sound a like a motherboard problem???

Somebody had mentioned that to me??

Please reply

You could have a hardware problem. If you do find the usb ports are bust, then this may solve your problem.

Mind you if you need to install a driver then you will need a mouse, hmm. Mind you it should be auto detected and installed by the O/S.

A thought, can you access and navigate the BIOS on startup using the keyboard ?
If so have you considered reloading the OS ?

I have tried a seperate keyboard as well but it also doesn't work. both wireless and a normal one. I can't even get into the bios screen because of the keyboard not working.
