[Amilo M] M3438g and windows vista

Hello, im having an amilo 3438g, a while ago i installed Vista on it but went back to win. XP since the FAN was running at full speed all the time (too much noise for me. )

Vista did run smoothly and much better than xp, so I was hopeing that someone came up with a solution for the FAN since it's likely to be ralated to a driver problem and not cpu overload.

I have 2 gb ram, nvidia go 6800 and a 2ghz centrino

I had the same problem with the fan and also after I have installed Office 2007 and run all the upgrades my sound card just gone. After I changed to XP it worked fine.

Can you tell me what type of memory you used to ugrade to 2GB or you got the laptop with 2 GB. I am looking to upgrade and can not find anyone who supply the Samsung memory.

Hey greekstallion, you dont need any special kind of ram.

For example you can buy two sticks 1gb Kingston ddr2 533Mhz and you ll be fine...

@tkj: The "always on fan" is a known problem that nobody has a solution yet (dont know if there will be on in the future ). It is a shame indeed but FsC doesn't seem to care. They won't even take the time to answer here...

3438 is excellent for cooking eggs on it, is excellent for making BRRRR sound effects, and is also excellent for making motion lagging...

NEVER BUY FSC AGAIN... (save your money for something better, and not uniwill rebranded notebooks from FSC... )
