Hi, I hope you may be able to help me. I'm re-installing Windows XP from scratch on my M3438G laptop.
What I'd like to know is would it be better to download the latest drivers from each of the independent manufacturers websites for each of the components, or is it wise just to stick to the ones on the Fujitsu site?
What are the best nVidia 6800 Go graphics and GPU bios drivers to install?
The latest general drivers on the Fujitsu website are v18.104.22.168 from the 10th Aug 2005, although I have been running a v81.94 independent version for around a year now. The graphics BIOS version I'm using is v5.41.02.39.60.
Are there any more better and optimised (and very stable) versions, now?
Is v22.214.171.1247 from 25th Aug 2004 still the latest drivers for the M3438G's Intel 915PM+ICH6M chipset? Or should I use the newest drivers from the Intel website, such as: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts ... n&lang=eng
Is v5.620.1202.2004 from 12th Feb 2004 still the latest drivers for the Realtek Gigabit LAN? Or should I download the latest ones from the Realtek site?
Is v126.96.36.199 from 12th Sep 2005 still the latest drivers for the Intel Pro-Wireless 2200GB & 2915ABG? Or would Intel's be better?
I understand that the latest version allegedly smooths over the "brrrrr" lag problems to an extent during gaming, etc., but are these drivers just for use when the hard-drives are used in a RAID configuration, or can the drivers still be used regardlessly?
Obviously items such as the nVidia graphics would benefit from installing independent versions instead of the older version on the Fujitsu site. I just wondered as to all the other components in the laptop, too.
