i have a 3438g notebook.
i want to know what linux distribution is better on this notebook.
mandrake 10 won't instal cause of hardware problem with hdd.
suse 10 experience a major problem with sound.
fedora won't start installing due to hardware problem.
which one is fully compatible with this notebook???

From what I've read the Ubuntu 5.10 i the most compatible and easy for laptops. I'm making tests before install it but this distro looks great. Another version of the same Linux is Kubuntu with KDE, while the first one is with Gnome.

I have OpenSuSE 10.1 installed on it - everything works out of the box. The only thing that annoys me is that cooling fan is always running under linux.

i have a serious sound problem with suse.i have to configure my sound card every time i log on to the system using linux.sometimes o don't have
sound at all
