Dual Boot - No timeout in Legacy Bootloader?

Postby Rob.27 » Wed Nov 28, 2012 16:44

I have a AH532 Lifebook with Windows 7 and 8 dual booted. Windows 7 is set as the default OS which means that the legacy (Windows 7) bootscreen is used. The problem I am having is that the timeout does not appear, it just sits and waits for me to make a selction which OS I want to boot. The timeout is correctly configured in the BCD and MSconfig etc.

I have been on to MS and they say it should be working.

I beleive the problem is something specifically related to this particular machine. To prove it I have created a start up CD with the boot files on it. When used to boot the Lifebook no timeout appears, but when used on 2 other machines the timeout does appear as it should.

Has anyone else got a Lifebook with dual booted Windows 7 & 8, with 7 set as the default and the Bootloader timeout working?
